Secondary Operational Guidelines

Organization
1. Leadership The leadership of ACDE shall be appointed by the North American Division (NAD) Office of Education
2. MembershipAny NAD accredited institution may join the consortium and offer courses through the consortium provided the consortium content and delivery standards are met.
Accreditation
 1. School Schools offering credit shall be NAD accredited for the courses they are offering.
2. TeacherTeachers of a course shall be NAD certified in the subjects they are instructing.
3. Non-Accredited TAGeducation will maintain a listing of courses that are available for no credit.
Procedures
1. Registration Students may register for courses through any consortium school that is providing credit; non-accredited courses will be registered through the entity providing the course.
2. Credit Credit will be given by the school in which the student is enrolled, not by the school that delivers the course. All courses available through ACDE will have passed the content and delivery standards for NAD credit. Schools will need to approve the offering of courses through the secondary credit review of their Union.
3. Student FinancialAll ACDE secondary students shall prepay expenses or setup credit card deductions for monthly payments through the school in which the student is enrolled. TAGeducation will facilitate the credit card transactions for all consortium schools. School will determine the final cost for courses offered to students they enroll.
4. School Financial Each institution delivering courses will determine the per-student charge to the consortium school offering credit for the course. Consortium schools may negotiate the trading of instructional time as they see fit.
5. Technology Any communication method may used to deliver instruction as long as it meets the consortium delivery and content standards.
Curriculum
1. Content StandardsCourse content must satisfy the NAD curriculum guide for the subject taught.
2. Delivery StandardsCourse delivery must satisfy the ACDE delivery standards as approved by AVLL (Adventist Virtual Learning Laboratory)
3. Teacher TrainingTeachers delivering or designing courses for consortium use, must complete: 1) A delivery technology program for the presentation method they are using, and 2) An online instructional training program.
4. Course ListingTAGeducation will maintain a listing of all courses available through the consortium.
Assessment
1. CourseCourses will be approved for consortium use by a peer review which will be coordinated by the leadership of ACDE.
2. TeacherOpportunity will be given to evaluate the teacher presenting each course. Reviews will be available through TAGeducation.
3. DesignOpportunity will be given to evaluate the design of the courses. Reviews will be available through TAGeducation.
