Come experience a lesson modeling how to integrate PowerPoint, the Internet, and Inspiration (a brainstorming tool) in a unique lesson. This session we will play the role of students; and then debrief and explore how to create similar activities for your classroom.

Digital Video in the Classroom Part I

Hands-on training using digital video cameras, importing tape to the computer, editing, adding sound and special effects. Ideas will be shared of ways to integrate video technology into classroom curriculum, including student Quicktime video projects, student film festivals, and newscasts. Although there will be some available to share, participants are encouraged to bring any digital video camcorders, blank tapes, and video capable computers they have available. Participants will leave with a CD-ROM of classroom samples and ideas.

This session provides an overview of several philosophical perspectives as well as 5-10 specific ways to organize online classes. It will give you an opportunity to explore various ways that learning activities transfer into the online classroom. You will consider the content, processes, and timing in your face to face class and decide how those will be altered in the online space. Make sure to bring a syllabus.

Also, we will give the results of the Platform Bonanza and brainstorming sessions. You won't want to miss the special song Mark Thogmartin has created just for AVLN. Also a number of prizes for "networking" will be given. Finally, our goodbyes are really "hellos" as we figure out how we will stay connected.
