System Requirements

Technology Used:

• Desire2Learn: Asynchronous discussion spaces for strands and working groups; text chats for hallway conversations, helpdesk and more; presentation materials, papers, etc.
• Voxwire: Live voice & PowerPoint presentations.
• Windows Media Player: For streaming video of keynote presentations. 3ABN has great instructions online here.
• Adobe Acrobat Reader: For viewing PDF files.
• Java: For the clocks on the schedule and for the Desire2Learn chat.

Basic Level: Asynchronous & Text Chat
Internet Access (no microphone or speakers)
At this level, you will get the full conference information, presentations, and will participate asynchronously with other conference attendees. You will also be able to use Desire2Learn's text chat tool.

• D2L System Check
• Do you have Acrobat Reader? If the conference flyer comes up, then you do. If not, install Acrobat Reader.
• Install Windows Media Player: For streaming video of keynote presentations. 3ABN has great instructions online here.

Mid Level: Asynchronous & Voxwire Text Chat & Listening Only
Internet Access with Speakers (no microphone)
At this level, you'll have access to everything in Desire2Learn, but will also be able to listen to the Voxwire discussions. You will be able to participate in Voxwire discussion via the text chat.

• Voxwire System Requirements (It says IE 6 or higher; however we've tested it with IE 5.1 and it seems to work fine.)
• Voxwire Voice Test Room

Full Participation: Asynchronous, and Voxwire Listen & Talk
Internet Access with Speakers (no microphone)
With the addition of a microphone, you will be able to interact and talk in the Voxwire discussions in addition to participating in everything else.
