Holidays Around the World
An AVLN Collaborative Project
What? This project is for students from all levels of education who want to practicetheir creative writing skills. Submit your writing about a holiday in your country, and return periodically to see the updates!
Project Dates: September 2002 and ongoing
Submission Requirements: Your writing project should be 300 words maximum. It could be written as a poem or in paragraph form. The project should include the following information:
- Country
- Origin or background of the holiday
- Why and how it is celebrated
- Who celebrates the holiday
- When the holiday occurs
Including a Photo: You may include one original digital photo in your submission. If possible, please submit as a jpg or gif with a 200 pixel width maximum and under 20K in size. Photos not meeting these specifications will be edited as needed.
Submissions should be emailed to janine@janinelim.com for posting. They will be posted within one week. Need help with email attachments or photos?
