Course Components

This course assumes that you have already thought through addressing the learning principles and standards required by your institution. If necessary, complete that work on your course too.

Introduction
What assessment do you use in your face to face class that you can use online? This week you have a lot of leeway as you develop the assessment portion of your module(s). You may decide to focus on one type of assessment you want to use and create that item. Consider also what will be fairly simple to share with us for feedback.

1. Develop materials for assessment of at least one module or section of your course (quiz questions, rubrics, exam questions, alternative assessments, etc.)

2. Update your syllabus to include details about the online assessment in your course. Include any new details that apply to your online course. Clearly communicate expectations to the students.

Then post (Word, HTML or PDF) your assessment materials and updated syllabus in the Discussion Board for feedback (one message for each). Tell us how you plan to use the assessment materials.

Timing: Work on Course Components Monday and Tuesday and post your work by Wednesday night each week. Thursday through Sunday we will participate in Community Feedback.
