Introduction
How will you tell
students how to get into your online course? How will you orient them
to learning online and the tools you'll be using in your course? How
will students know what do to in the course and where to start?
Final
Touches
1. Develop an
outline of necessary communication for your online course.
For example, you might have an introductory email, a welcome email,
a weekly "todo" email, or other such communication. You'll
find examples you can use in Resources.
2. Decide what
is in the week one orientation. You might build this into the
learning activities for the first week. Or your institution might
already have orientation materials. Decide what level of orientation
your students need.
3. Finish syllabus
and post. Tie up any loose ends for your syllabus. Check your work.
Anything else you should include? See Course
Syllabi for a list of components.
Then post
(Word, HTML or PDF) your communication and orientation materials/plans
and final syllabus in the Discussion Board for feedback (one
message for each).
Timing:
