What are past participants saying about the course?
I REALLY appreciate the opportunity to take this class in this format! I feel like I learned SO MUCH, and it also met my specific needs for time and place this summer. I registered for this class ONLY because I need it for certification, but it'll go down as one of the best and most practical classes I've ever taken! - Teacher
"I'm so glad I took this class rather than another one I was looking at from a large public university. This component wouldn't have been present. It has been very appropriate and meaningful." - Teacher
"I enjoy all of the suggestions about integrating faith. Having come from public school, that is sometimes challenging." - Teacher
"I think I would place myself on the Adaption stage of the Teachers Stages of Tech Use. But I am at this stage only because last summer I took the integrating Technology into the Curriculum class that AVLN offered. It helped me tremendously."- Teacher who was finishing a second AVLN course.
In the beginning, I found it really tough to find activities for my students to "do" so that I could say we were "using" the new computers. I wasn't really into computers, so I didn't even know where to begin. Fortunately, I took several really great classes (Integrating Technology into the Curriculum, Creating WebQuests and Technology in the Early Elementary Classroom) and the world has opened up for me. Now I am taking technology classes for fun - not just because I need certification! - Teacher
This class and the KidPix class have been the most beneficial to me in my classroom than any other technology classes I have ever taken. This is because the assignments are designed to help me find ways to benefit my particular classroom instruction. It also provides invaluable feedback and sharing of thoughts/ideas with fellow colleagues.
