AVLL Meets at Orlando by Larry Burton

Well, here is the web version of the history of our meetings in Orlando last week. It has been interesting getting this done with this computer, but it is on the web now. I still need to add some more items, so check back in a few more days.

Osborn Participates in VLL Phone Conference

At 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday after a full day of working groups, VLL Conference members participated in a phone call from Dick Osborn, NAD Vice President of Education. He encouraged and counseled us in our vision. We had a lively conversation. Participants had specific questions for Dick, and he had plenty for them as well.

It was appropriate for technology to bring us together in spite of complicated schedules and distance. We really appreciated Dick's discussion with us.

Teams Make Special Presentions to VLL

We were privileged to have two distinguished groups of presenters for our meetings.

The Florida High School gave us an excellent presentation on Thursday afternoon. Read here for more information.

The second team gave a wonderful presentation to us on Friday morning. They were from the University of Central Florida. Read here for a more complete description.

We were delighted with both presentations and felt that our time--and theirs--was well spent.

Robert Slider, VirtualEd, attended part of the VLL Conference. His company develops online technical courses plus provides web services for schools and teachers. Check out his site: VirtualEd.Org. The Florida Conference has contracted with VirtualEd so all their teachers can take any of the Level One courses to help them prepare for technology competency tests by 2000.
