Previewing the Page
PageMill has four ways to view your page.
When you start PageMill, you are automatically in edit mode. This allows you to edit and change your page. In the right hand corner you will see the Toggle Preview Mode button.
The Toggle Preview Mode allows you to preview the page in PageMill. This is useful for checking links between pages you have created. However, outside links and animations will not work. Note that when you click the Toggle Preview Mode the icon changes to show which mode you are currently in.
You can also view the HTML of your page.
PC: From the menu, choose View, HTML Source.
MAC: From the menu, choose Edit, HTML Source.
To switch back to normal edit mode, choose the menu option again. (It's a toggle switch - which means when you select it - it turns it on, select it again, it goes off, etc.)See all the hard work you did! Aren't you glad PageMill is writing the HTML for you?! I use this feature only when something is wrong and I'm trying to figure it out. Generally you won't need this.
You can also preview the page in Netscape or Internet Explorer.
PC: From the menu, choose View, Switch to... and choose the browser.
MAC: From the menu, choose Window, Switch to... and choose the browser. The Preview in Browser button saves your page and loads it into the browser of your choice. It is helpful to preview your page in both Netscape and Internet Explorer on both MACs and PCs. Your page will probably look different on different computers and with different browsers. Note: Sometimes to see the changes you need to use the Reload/Refresh button in your browser. If you think it didn't make your changes, try Reload first.
Note: Preview in Browser will only work if PageMill knows the location of Netscape and Internet Explorer on your computer. If Netscape or Explorer is not listed when you press this button, you will have to locate the program on your computer. On the PC, it is probably found in the Program Files folder on your hard drive. On the Mac, in could be in the Hard Drive, or in the Applications folder on the hard drive, or in an Internet folder on the hard drive.
