Modifying the Links in Your Course
Each of the items on the navigation bar or on the course homepage are called links or hyperlinks. They can go to external web pages, tools within WebCT, or organizer pages.
Moving the Links Around
- Be sure you are on the course homepage in Designer view.
- Click in the radio box beside the link you wish to move.
- Scroll down till you see the options shown below.
- Click Move backward (or forward) and click Go.
Edit the Names of the Links
- Be sure you are on the course homepage in Designer view.
- Click in the radio box beside the link you wish to edit.
- Scroll down till you see Modify selected link.
- Click in the radio box beside Edit Link. Click Go.
- In the box next to Title, edit as needed.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Update.
Delete Page or Tool
Deleting a page or tool on the Homepage or an Organizer Page
- Navigate to the Homepage or the Organizer page on which the tool or page appears, and then select
Designer Options.- Select the tool or page you want to delete.
- Click bottom or scroll to the bottom of the screen.
- Under Modify selected link, select Delete and then click Go. A warning message appears confirming the
deletion.- Click OK. The Homepage or Organizer page appears with the tool deleted.
- This deletes the tool or page from the content area only. If the tool or page is also on the Navigation Bar, you will have to delete it from there as well (see next item).
Deleting a page or tool on the Navigation Bar
- From the Homepage, select Designer Options. Click bottom or scroll to the bottom of the screen.
- Click Change Course Settings. The Change Settings screen appears.
- Under Edit Navigation Bar, click Go. The Edit Navigation Bar screen appears.
- Under Edit Navigation Links, select the page or tool you want to delete.
- Under Copy, Move or Delete Link select Delete selected link and then click Go. A warning message
appears confirming the deletion.- Click OK. The screen refreshes with the link deleted.

Instructional Tips for icons
- It is easy to get excited about all the tools available and add too many icons. However, this can be very confusing to students. Pick the few essential icons you will use and clearly name them to show their purpose. Try to keep the number of your icons below 10. Keep it simple!
