Creating Your Own Banner for Your Course
There are many options for creating your own banner.
Windows Paint
- Choose Image, Attributes and change the size to about 420 pixels by 100 pixels.
- Use the Paint Bucket
to create a background.
- Use the Text Tool
to add some text. Be sure to select transparent from the bottom two options on the left as shown here.

- When you're finished, choose File, Save As... and change the File Type at the bottom of the screen to GIF. Save it to an appropriate place.
- Then upload the file into your WebCT course and add it to the design of the homepage.
Corel Presentations
- Use the
rectangle tool to create a rectangle that is about half the width of your screen. Change the colors and style as you wish.
- Use the
text tool to write the name of your course. Make sure the colors are readable and look ok.
- If you wish, add a graphic with the clipart tool.

- Then select the rectangle, text, and graphic (if you added one).
- From the menu choose File, Save As...
- Click ok on the Selected Items dialog box.
- Change the File Type at the bottom of the screen to GIF. Save it in an appropriate place.
- Then upload the file into your WebCT course and add it to the design of your homepage.
