Using RealSlideShow 2.0 Note: RealSlideShow has to work quite a bit to do this project for you. If it ever looks like it is frozen or crashed, wait on it. It is working!
Acquire your pictures
- First get your pictures with a digital camera or scanner. They should be saved in the .jpg, .bmp, or .gif format. Put them together in a folder on your desktop.
- You can also use a PowerPoint slideshow saved as .jpg. Follow these instructions to convert it.
- Create your slideshow.
- Choose File, Save As .
- Change "Save File as Type" to JPEG File Interchange Format
- Give your file a name.
- Save it in the same folder as all your other pictures.
- Click "Yes" when it asks if you want the whole slideshow saved.
Add pictures to the slideshow
- Start RealSlideshow by clicking on the icon.
- Arrange your desktop as shown so that you can see the folder of graphics and RealSlideshow.
- Drag the graphics onto RealSlideshow. You can rearrange them later if necessary.
- Wait while it says "Reading Source Files".
- Save your project by choosing File, Save from the menu.
Add your Title Slide and Your Name
- Click on the Properties button. The following Dialog box will appear. Fill in the appropriate information.
Add narration to your slides if youd like
- We recommend writing your narration ahead of time.
- Click on your first picture.
- From the menu, choose File, Add Captions. Note that you cant add text captions with the free version.
- Make sure your computer has a microphone.
- Click Start Recording.
- Speak into the mic and read/talk your narration.
- Then click on Next Image to record narration for the next slide. Continue until you are finished recording.
- Click OK when you are finished. Save your project.
Finish the project.
- Click Generate to compile your project files into RealPlayer format.
